Spring Sorting and Classification Activities

These Spring Sorting and Classification Activities include 7 unique sets of spring-themed "flipstrips" with accompanying recording sheets. Within a small group, at science or literacy center or an independent workstation, students complete the sentences with picture cards by identifying unique characteristics, parts, needs or abilities of plants and or animals. For example in the set, "Flowers Are, Flowers Have, Flowers Need," students complete each phrase with the appropriate picture card depending on if it is a characteristic (flowers are...), a part (flowers have...), or a need (flowers need...) After students have worked through the set, they can record their answers on the accompanying recording sheet.
