Counting 1–12, number recognition, 1-to-1 correspondence (K.CC.B.4), basic addition (K.OA.A.1, 1.OA.B.3), modeling addition with manipulatives, solving addition problems with sums to 12, math language and following directions, ocean vocabulary, fine motor skills (pincer grasp with tweezers/tongs), independent work, and answer recording (handwriting / dry-erase).
How to Use:
Set up at a math center with a bowl of goldfish crackers AND small tweezers or tongs (sneaks in fine motor practice). Level 1 for early learners working on counting. Level 2 for students modeling math problems with manipulatives. Level 3 for students solving addition problems independently and recording answers. At the end of the activity, students get to eat their goldfish — built-in reinforcement!
