Product Description

Ocean Adapted Book | Where Is the Shark? | Prepositions & WH Questions is a fun, interactive ocean-themed literacy activity for preschool, Pre-K, kindergarten, special education, autism classrooms, and speech therapy. This adapted book helps students practice ocean vocabulary, matching skills, position words, WH-questions, comprehension, and story sequencing through repeated text, rhyme, and hands-on participation.

This printable resource includes matching pieces, position word practice, comprehension pieces, a vocabulary matching activity, and a story sequencing activity. As the story is read aloud, students follow along and match picture pieces to each page, then answer basic comprehension questions at the end. It is a great fit for small groups, literacy centers, independent work stations, and therapy sessions, especially for students who benefit from visual supports, repetition, and interactive learning.

This Interactive Adapted Book Includes:

Matching Pieces

Position Word Practice

Comprehension Pieces

Vocabulary Matching Activity

Story Sequencing Activity

Practice With The Initial Sh sound as all characters begin with Sh sound

In this interactive activity, a teacher or therapist reads the story, as students follow along and match a picture piece to each page. At the end of the story, students answer basic comprehension questions by choosing the correct answer piece that goes with each page.

Students working at an independent level can read and work through the book at a literacy center or independent work station. The book includes plenty of repetitive text and rhyme for beginning readers.

In this silly ocean themed story, there is trouble in the dark-dark sea. The shark has gone missing and none of our friends in the ocean can seem to find it.

Sample Text:

"Where is the shark? Where did it go?

Shamus tried to find it, but he really didn't know!

He looked behind the seaweed in the deep, deep dark.

He found a crawling crab but he didn't find the shark!"

"Where is the shark? Where did it go?

Sheila tried to find it, but she really didn't know!

She looked behind the seaweed in the deep, deep dark.

She found a swimming fish but she didn't find the shark!"
