Ocean Adapted Book And Vocabulary Activities--"In the Deep Blue Sea"
Product Description
Ocean Adapted Book and Vocabulary Activities: In the Deep Blue Sea is an engaging ocean-themed activity for preschool, kindergarten, special education, and speech therapy. Students practice ocean vocabulary, listening skills, comprehension, and interactive matching while following along with a simple rhyming adapted book.
This printable resource also includes follow-up activities for sequencing, sorting and classification, positional concepts, and vocabulary development, making it easy to extend learning beyond the book. Use it during small group instruction, literacy centers, independent work stations, or therapy sessions to support meaningful, hands-on practice.
What's Included: 1 adapted (interactive) book, 1 sequencing stick activity, 1 sorting/classification activity, 1 positional concepts activity, and 1 set of vocabulary labeling cards.
How to Use It:
In a small group, a teacher or therapist reads the story as students follow along and match a word and picture to each page. After the book is complete, the teacher or therapist can extend the activity to other areas of focus such as sequencing skills, visual discrimination/identification skills, positional concepts skills, and sorting and classification skills by using the included supplemental activities. Students working at an independent level may work through the activities in a work station or literacy center.
Sample Text:
"Way, way down, in the deep blue sea,
a wiggly little octopus, was as wiggly as can be!
He wiggled by a seahorse.
And he wiggled by a fish.
He wiggled by a crab,
with a "wiggle-wiggle-swish!"
