Students build a fish tank using 3 differentiated levels of model cards (picture-only, picture + word, or word-only). Set it up as a cookie sheet activity, magnet center, or cut-and-glue craft.

Visual discrimination, replicating a model, following directions, ocean and fish tank vocabulary, attribute identification (color, size, shape, type), same and different, sight word recognition (Level 3), fine motor skills, scissor skills, and open-ended creativity.
How to Use:
Print, laminate, and add magnets to the pieces for a cookie sheet or magnet center. Students choose a model card and replicate the fish tank on their background mat. To increase difficulty, give students a larger field of pieces or move them up to the next card level. To decrease difficulty, limit the field to just the needed pieces.
