In a small group, the teacher or therapist reads the story while students add a picture to each page that completes the prepositional phrase ("In came the clouds," "Down came the snowflakes," "Up went the reindeer," etc.). At the end, students answer Wh- Questions with interactive answer pieces, then sequence the story with the sequencing strips. The 3 extension worksheets reinforce the vocabulary and skills for take-home practice.

Ways to Use:

  • Christmas and winter thematic units
  • Speech therapy preposition, sequencing, and Wh- Question sessions
  • Multi-IEP-goal data collection (prepositions + sequencing + Wh-)
  • Independent work systems (TEACCH)
  • ABA discrete trial training
  • Whole-class Christmas read-aloud (cumulative texts are read-aloud favorites)
