How to Use:

In a small group, the teacher or therapist reads the story while students add a picture to each page and practice the new phrase (using "this" for singular, "these" for plural). At the end, students answer Wh- Questions with interactive answer pieces, then sequence the story with the sequencing strips. Use the carrier phrase strips to target this/these grammar and the 2 worksheets for take-home practice.

Ways to Use:

  • Christmas and December thematic units
  • Speech therapy sequencing, Wh- Question, and grammar (this/these) sessions
  • Multi-IEP-goal data collection (sequencing + Wh- + demonstratives)
  • Independent work systems (TEACCH)
  • ABA discrete trial training
  • Whole-class Christmas read-aloud (cumulative texts are read-aloud favorites)
  • Beginning reader practice (repetitive, predictable text)
  • ESL/ELL grammar and demonstratives lessons
