Product Description

Teach appropriate vs. inappropriate behavior in a hands-on, engaging way with this behavior management sensory bin behavior center! Perfect for social emotional learning (SEL), classroom management lessons, small group instruction, morning meetings, and calm-down corners.

Students identify behavior choices as "good" or "bad," feed the bad choices to the Hungry Munchie Monster, and sort the good choices onto the mat. A "Think About It" reflection sheet extends the lesson for students working through a behavior moment.

★ Perfect for: PreK, Pre-K, Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, Special Education, Autism Classrooms, Speech Therapy, Counseling, and Early Childhood

What's Included:

  • Hungry Munchie Monster rhyme/poem (introduces the activity)
  • Printable Hungry Munchie Monster face (for "feeding" bad choices--students love this!)
  • Behavior choice cards (good and bad choices to sort)
  • "Good Choices" sorting mat
  • "Think About It" reflection sheet (writing + drawing extension)

The Hungry Munchie Monster Rhyme: "I'm Hungry Munchie Monster. I'm here to help your day. I eat up the bad choices and make them go away."

How to Use This Behavior Activity:

Set up as a sensory bin center, small group activity, whole-class behavior lesson, or one-on-one intervention. Students pull behavior cards from the bin, decide if each is a good or bad choice, then either feed it to the monster or add it to the sorting mat. Use the Think About It sheet with individual students after a behavior incident for reflection and replacement-behavior practice.

Great for teaching:

  • Good choices vs. bad choices
  • Appropriate classroom behavior
  • Expected vs. Unexpected behavior
  • Self-regulation and impulse control
  • Behavior expectations
  • Social skills
  • Problem solving
  • Conflict resolution
