- Non-Identical Matching Mat: students match an iguana to a (different) iguana, a jaguar to a (different) jaguar, etc. — building generalization
- "Big Flips" Matching (3 levels):
- Level 1 — animal picture to picture
- Level 2 — animal to word
- Level 3 — animal to the sentence that describes it
- WH Questions (20): students answer by pointing, clipping, or using a dry-erase marker — e.g., "Which one has feathers? Which one has scales? Which one can fly?"
