Sample Text (Wash! Wash! Wash!):

"Wash! Wash! Wash your hands!

Wash them every day!

Squirt the soap between your hands.

Scrub the germs away!"

Sample Text (This Is How We Wash Our Hands):

"This is how we wash our hands to get them really clean.

First we get them nice and wet — step one in our routine.

Next we get two squirts of soap to keep the germs at bay.

Then we rub, rub, rub our hands and scrub those germs away!"

How to Use:

In a small group, the teacher or therapist sings and moves through the pages while students sing along and learn when and how to wash their hands. At the end, students identify when and how they should wash. Use This Is How We Wash Our Hands as a step-by-step routine chant during actual hand-washing. Independent learners can read the books and complete the matching activities at a literacy center or workstation.
