In this hands-on activity, students match pictures, sing along, and participate in movement-based activities as the book is read. This resource is perfect for Pre-K, ECSE, autism support, speech therapy, and special education classrooms, and supports gross motor skills, following directions, and imitation skills.
The first adapted book, Animals Live In The Forest, is sung to the familiar tune, "She'll Be Coming Around The Mountain," and teaches forest vocabulary through song.
Sample Verse:
"Rabbits live in the forest, yes they do!
Foxes live in the forest, yes they do!
Wolves live in the forest.
Deer live in the forest.
Skunks live in the forest--
How 'bout you?"
Students match the pictures and sing along as the teacher or therapist sings the song and moves through the pages. After the song is complete, students engage in a sorting activity that focuses on classifying forest animals.
Also included in this set, is a movement book, that focuses on gross motor skills or motor planning, following directions and imitation skills, as well as movement cards that supplement the book.
