Feed Puppy Adapted Book | Colors Counting Numbers | SLP SPED Autism Math Pre-K
Product Description
This Feed Puppy Adapted Book targets color identification AND counting in one engaging, multi-sensory activity. Students "feed" the puppy a specific number AND color of bones on each page — combining 1-to-1 correspondence, number recognition, color identification, and following 2-step directions in a single resource. Perfect for early learners, students with autism, and language-delayed students who benefit from the playful "feeding" mechanic.

Color identification and color words, counting 1–10, number recognition, 1-to-1 correspondence, following 2-step directions ("Feed Puppy 4 purple bones"), receptive and expressive language, attribute combining (color + number), listening comprehension, fine motor skills (Velcro manipulation), and independent work skills.
Sample Text:
"Lick. Lick. Chomp. Crunch. Puppy says, 'Time for Lunch!'
Feed Puppy 4 purple bones.
Lick. Lick. Chomp. Crunch. Puppy eats and eats a bunch!
Feed Puppy 6 blue bones.
Lick. Lick. Chomp. Crunch.
Puppy says, 'Need more lunch.' Feed Puppy 7 pink bones."
How to Use:
In a small group, the teacher or therapist reads each rhyme aloud while students identify the color AND number in the prompt, then feed the puppy the correct combination of bones. The two-attribute combination ("4 purple bones") builds following 2-step directions — a critical year-round SLP IEP goal that most counting books skip. Independent learners can read and work through the book at a literacy center or workstation.
