Product Description
Build vocabulary and comprehension skills with this interactive Earth Day adapted book. Students learn Earth Day vocabulary and simple environmental concepts through rhyme, matching, and hands-on practice.
This resource includes an adapted book plus follow-up activities for sequencing, sorting, positional concepts, and vocabulary development. It is perfect for Pre-K, ECSE, autism support, speech therapy, and special education classrooms, and works well for small groups, centers, and independent practice.
This download includes: 1 adapted book, 1 sequencing stick activity, 1 sorting/classification activity, 1 positional concepts activity, and 1 set of vocabulary labeling cards.
How to Use It:
In a small group, a teacher or therapist reads the story as students follow along and match a word and picture to each page. After the book is complete, the teacher or therapist can extend the activity to other areas of focus such as sequencing skills, visual discrimination/identification skills, positional concepts skills, and sorting and classification skills by using the included supplemental activities. Students working at an independent level may work through the activities in a work station or literacy center.
Sample Text:
"Pick up trash.
Plant a tree.
Conserve our electricity!"
Put paper, plastic in the bin.
Recycle! Make things new again."
