These Behavior Task Cards (Set 2) Calming Strategies include 1 complete set of "Go Behaviors/No Behaviors" Task Cards with a total of 54 cards included that focus on appropriate strategies for staying or keeping calm, or calming down.
What are "Go Behaviors and No Behaviors?" A Go Behavior is a good behavior. This means, "It's good. It is appropriate. Go ahead and do it." A "No Behavior" is a bad behavior. It is inappropriate. This means, "No. Do not do that behavior."
In this task card set, students look at the behavior shown on the card and determine if it is a "Go Behavior," or an appropriate way to keep calm, or calm down or a "No Behavior, or an inappropriate way to keep calm or calm down. If you think this terminology is too confusing for your students, you can call them "Good/Bad," Behaviors, or "Happy/Sad Behaviors."
These tasks cards lend themselves really well to small group discussions in social skills groups. But they can be used so many ways.
Use these task cards in independent workstations, learning centers or a small group setting. Students may complete them as a clothespin task, paperclip task, marker task, or answer questions orally in a small group setting. These cards also make great visuals to incorporate into whole/large group instruction.
