Each book brings it's respective animal group to life with real photos. These adapted books focus on basic reading skills, animal group attributes, and identifying animals and characteristics in each group.
A teacher or therapist reads a book, as students follow along, matching a photo and word to each page. These books includes two levels of matching: words with pictures, and just words so that students may work at their level. They also include both real photos and clip art to help with generalization. At the end of the books, students identify each animal group and their characteristics. After the book has been introduced, students working independently may practice the book in a workstation, or science or literacy center.
