This St. Patrick's Day Adapted Book For Movement And Imitation Skills, "Lucky Can, Can You?" is a fun way to get students to practice imitation skills, body parts, gross motor movements--and incorporates yoga poses although they are not called out by name. This book can also be used as an interactive adapted book and includes a matching piece for each pose.
This activity is meant to be used as a transition activity, a brain break, and to settle students between an active activity (cafeteria, recess) into a calmer activity. The teachers or therapist reads the book, as students follow along and copy the leprechaun's poses.
Sample Text:
Lucky can....reach up high.
He can look toward the sky.
Lucky can...reach up high.
Can you????
Lucky can...reach down low.
He can do it really slow.
Lucky can...reach down low.
Can you???
