These Hygiene Adapted Song Books, "Wash! Wash! Wash!" and "This Is How We Wash Our Hands," teach students how to wash their hands in a fun and interactive way. Students learn WHEN to wash their hands, and also HOW to wash their hands.
Adapted Song Books, develop language skills, beginning reading skills, and teach simple concepts though songs. "Wash! Wash! Wash!" teaches students how to wash their hands and is sung to the tune, "Row, Row, Row Your Boat."
Sample Text:
Wash! Wash! Wash your hands!
Wash them every day!
Squirt the soap between your hands.
Scrub the germs away!
(You get the idea!)
In a small group, the teacher or therapist sings and moves through the pages, as students sing along, and learn about the appropriate times to wash their hands. At the end of the book, students identify when and how they should wash their hands. Students reading independently may read through the book and complete the matching activities at an independent work station or literacy center.
The second book, "This Is How We Wash Our Hands," is an adapted book chant. Students chant the steps to hand-washing to learn proper hand-washing techninque.
Sample Text:
"This is how we wash our hands
to get them really clean.
First we get them nice and wet--
step one in our routine.
Next we get two squirts of soap
to keep the germs at bay.
Then we rub, rub, rub our hands
and scrub those germs away!"
(You get the idea!)
