Snowman Adapted Book
This Snowman Adapted Book, "The Roley-Poley Snowball" is super-fun and interactive winter themed story that focuses on basic snowman themed vocabulary, matching skills, Wh-questions, and sequencing story events.
In this activity, a teacher or therapist reads the story, as students follow along and match a picture piece to each page. At the end of the story, students answer basic comprehension questions by choosing the correct answer piece that goes with each page.
Students working at an independent level can read and work through the book at a literacy center or independent work station.
Sample Text:
"On a white and snowy hill,
in a pile, beside a tree...
A "roly-poly" snowball was as "roly" as can be!
He rolled over some snowballs.
And he rolled over some sticks.
He rolled over some buttons,
as he laughed and did his tricks..."
This book also includes a bonus, "Sequencing Stick" activity. After the story, students practice sequencing events of the story on a paint stirrer. (See photos for details.)
