This Back to School Adapted Book, "I See," Things at School focuses on identifying school themed objects by attribute, or function and includes real photos of things commonly seen at school.
In this activity, the teacher or therapist reads through the book with students as students try to solve the riddle by identifying the school themed object and matching piece that best fits the description.
Sample Text:
"I see. I see.
What can it be?
It's something we use to cut paper...
(Students find the picture and turn the page to see the answer revealed.)
It's a pair of scissors!
That's right!
We use a pair of scissors to cut paper."
After the students have worked through the book, there is an extension activity included where they can practice creating their own summer themed riddles. Students working independently may work through the book at a literacy center.
