This Apples Adapted Book, "I See Apples" focuses on identifying parts of an apple and things related to apples and making inferences. Students identify objects by attribute, feature or function by listening to a clue and looking at real photos.
In this activity, the teacher or therapist reads through the book with students as students try to solve each riddle by identifying the apple themed object and matching piece that best fits the description.
Sample Text:
"I see. I see.
What can it be?
They're something we plant to grow apples...
(Students find the picture and turn the page to see the answer revealed.)
They are seeds!
That's right!
We plant seeds to grow apples."
After the students have worked through the book, there is an extension activity included where they can practice creating their own summer themed riddles. Students working independently may work through the book at a literacy center.
