This Picnic Adapted Book, "The Nibbly Little Fire Ant" is a fun and interactive picnic themed book. This adapted book focuses on picnic themed vocabulary, the core word, "on," basic comprehension skills and -wh questions, and story sequencing skills.

With this book, a teacher or therapist reads the story, as students follow along, match a picture piece to each page, and move the interactive piece into the correct position. At the end of the story, students answer basic comprehension questions by choosing the correct answer piece that goes with each page, and practice sequencing the story with sequencing strips.
Students working at an independent level can read and work through the book at a literacy center or independent work station.

A nibbly little fire ant was as nibbly as can be!
He nibbled on a sandwich...
and he nibbled on some cheese.
He nibbled on some apples...
and some oranges and some peas.
He nibbled on some cookies...

He nibbled on some melons...
and he nibbled on some dips!"
