This Adapted Song Book, "We'll Be Eating on Thanksgiving,"  is a Thanksgiving themed book that teaches Thanksgiving dinner themed vocabulary words. It is sung to the familiar tune, "I've Been Working on the Railroad."

Sample Verse:

"We'll be eating on Thanksgiving,

 Eating all the day.

 We'll be eating on Thanksgiving,

 The family's on their way!

 Can't you smell the turkey cooking?

 We'll start it early in the morn.

 We will eat some mashed potatoes,

 And lots of roasted corn!"

 

Students match the pictures and sing along as the teacher or therapist sings the song and moves through the pages.  After the song is complete, students engage in a sorting activity that focuses the positional words:  on and off.
