These Polar Bear Math Activities: Polar Bear Marshmallow Math, offer students a fun and hands-on way to practice basic counting, one:one correspondence, modeling addition problems, and simple addition using marshmallows. You can also use small white pom poms as your "snow" if you prefer. You can also a set of tweezers or small tongs to your center to mix in some fine motor skills practice!There are different activities included in this set for differentiation. (Please see photos for details).Level 1: Basic counting, number recognition, and one:one correspondence. This set includes 12 counting mats and focuses on the numbers 1-12.Level 2: Modeling simple addition problems. This set includes 12 different mats, and 12 simple math problems that students model and solve. The problems focus on sums to 12.Level 3: Solving simple addition problems. This set includes one mat and a flip book that covers all addition problems with sums to 12. Students look at a problem, and solve it on the marshmallow counting mat. They may record their answers with a dry erase marker on the flip book.
