In a small group, independent center or independent work station. A teacher or student reads through the book and feeds the animal or critter, the correct number and color the food on each page.

Bear says, "Time for Lunch!"
Feed Bear 5 blue fish.
Chomp. Chomp. Crunch. Crunch.
Bear eats and eats a bunch!
Feed Bear 3 red fish.

Bear says, "Need more lunch."
Feed Bear 6 green fish."
