Learning coins can be tricky for our students. Help your students identify and learn the values of the penny, nickel and dime with this song. The "Money Song" and poster is an easy way to help students remember them. It is sung to the tune of "London Bridge" and goes like this:
"Penny, Penny, Nickel, Dime,
Nickel Dime, Nickel Dime.
Penny, 1 cent. Nickel, 5.
Dime, 10 cents."
Sing the song with students when you are introducing coins and display the poster near your math center.
