This Martin Luther King Jr. Free "I Have A Dream" set of posters can be displayed in your classroom or bound together as a simple little book. It is free because it is meant to be shared far and wide.
I remember hearing the words of Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have a Dream” as a small child and the echo of the repetitive “I Have A Dream,” refrain in my ears. Of course, at that time, I could not fully understand the meaning or weight that these beautiful words carried or comprehend the tragic injustices taking place across the country during that time period. Today I cannot hear or read these words without weeping, fully grasping their weight and significance. Perhaps I’ve carried them in my heart, all of these years—in the memory and echo of hearing them as a small child.
Although this set does not include the full text of Martin Luther King’s ”I Have A Dream,” speech I have selected important excerpts and edited them together in a way that I believe makes sense. I believe that it is so important to continue to share these momentous words with our children, planting seeds of understanding at time when they are undoubtably not fully capable of it—perhaps when they are grown, they will remember that familiar “I Have a Dream” refrain , and fully comprehend its significance too –
