The "Where is Scarecrow Hiding?" is a fall themed adapted book that teaches prepositions or positional words and reinforces colors and color words.
In this activity, the teacher or therapist reads the story as the students identify the scarecrow's position in relation to the colored leaf or leaves on each page. Students will match a position or preposition card to each page as the teacher reads. Students working independently can work through the book in a literacy center or independent workstation.
Sample Verse:
"Where is Scarecrow hiding?
Where can he be?
He's ________ (over) the orange leaf,
As we can plainly see!"
