This Beach Adapted Book And Activities, "The Crawly Little Crab" focuses on beach themed vocabulary words, preposition words, position concepts (preposition words), basic comprehension skills, "wh" questions and story sequencing.

1 Cut And Glue Activity

In this activity, the teacher or therapist reads the story to a small group of students, as students follow along and move the crab into the correct position on each page. Students can also attach a matching piece to each page (included and optional). At the end of the story, students answer "wh" comprehension questions using the by matching the correct answer piece to each question page.

Students working at an independent level may read through the rain forest themed book and work through questions in a literacy center or independent work station. There are several extension activities included for extra practice. (Please see photos and video for details.)

"Way down low, near a coconut tree...
a crawly little crab was as crawly as can be!
He crawled over a beachball
and he crawled beside a shell.
He crawled under a seagull
but that didn't turn out well--SPLAT!!!
He crawled right past a sandcastle
and crawled behind a chair.
He crawled between some sunscreen
and some flipflops laying there!
