This St. Patrick's Day Adapted Book, "Where is the Gold?" is fun and interactive St. Patrick's Day adapted book that focuses on basic St. Patrick's Day themed vocabulary, matching skills, position words, Wh-questions, and sequencing story events.
In this interactive activity, a teacher or therapist reads the story, as students follow along and match a picture piece to each page. At the end of the story, students answer basic comprehension questions by choosing the correct answer piece that goes with each page.
Students working at an independent level can read and work through the book at a literacy center or independent work station. The book includes plenty of repetitive text and rhyme for beginning readers.
In this silly St. Patrick's Day story, there is trouble near the cottage. The pot of gold has gone missing and none of the St. Patrick's Day "friends," can seem to find it!
Sample Text:
"Where is the gold? Where did it go?
Lacy tried to find it, but she really didn't know!
She looked beside the cottage where she thought the pot had rolled.
She found a shiny horseshoe but she didn't find the gold!
"Where is the gold? Where did it go?
Larry tried to find it, but he really didn't know!
He looked next to the cottage where he thought the pot had rolled.
He found four leaf clover, but he didn't find the gold!"
This book also includes a bonus, "Sequencing Stick" activity. After the story, students practice sequencing events of the story on a paint stirrer. (See photos for details.)
