This Penguin Adapted Book And Activities: "A Picky Penguin," focuses on the beginning p sound (and the core word, give) and serves as a good review for students revisiting the sound or this core word.
This set also pairs very well with "When Penguin Got Hungry," which focuses on winter vocabulary words, story comprehension and story sequencing skills.
This download will be a special "dollar," download for the month of January and includes:
1 adapted book
1 set of trace and write activities
1 set of word cards
1 Feed Penguin activity
5 worksheets for extra practice
In a "Picky Penguin," students are dealing with a very picky eater. Don't dare feed this finicky penguin fish! This picky, purple penguin (who only wears pink!) will only eat things that begin with the letter P.
A teacher or therapist will read the story to students, as students follow along and give the penguins a new "p" food on each page. At the end of the book, students will identify many foods and objects that start with P.
Sample text:
Give a picky penguin, pizza.
Give a picky penguin, pie.
Give a picky penguin, peanut butter--
three jars high!
Give a picky penguin, popcorn.
Give a picky penguin, peas.
Give a picky penguin, peppermint--
and pickles, if you please....
