This Thanksgiving Adapted Book, "Where is the Pie?" is super-fun and interactive Thanksgiving story that focuses on basic Thanksgiving themed vocabulary, matching skills, position words, Wh-questions, and sequencing story events.
In this activity, a teacher or therapist reads the story, as students follow along and match a picture piece to each page. At the end of the story, students answer basic comprehension questions by choosing the correct answer piece that goes with each page.
Students working at an independent level can read and work through the book at a literacy center or independent work station.
Sample Text:
"Where is the pie? Where did it go?
Grandpa tried to find it, but he really didn't know!
He looked under the table, with a disappointed sigh.
He found the mashed potatoes, but he didn't find the pie!
Where is the pie? Where did it go?
Grandma tried to find it, but she really didn't know!

This book also includes a bonus, "Sequencing Stick" activity. After the story, students practice sequencing events of the story on a paint stirrer. (See photos for details.)
