This Fall Adapted Book, "Where is the Hay?" is fun and interactive fall themed adapted book that focuses on basic fall themed vocabulary, matching skills, position words, Wh-questions, and sequencing story events.
In this interactive activity, a teacher or therapist reads the story, as students follow along and match a picture piece to each page. At the end of the story, students answer basic comprehension questions by choosing the correct answer piece that goes with each page.
Students working at an independent level can read and work through the book at a literacy center or independent work station
In this silly fall, there is trouble at the apple orchard. The hay has gone missing and none of the animals can seem to find it!
Sample Text:
"Where is the hay? Where did it go?
Squirrel tried to find it, but he really didn't know!
He looked under the apple tree and said,
"Oh what a day!"
He found a stack of acorns but he didn't find the hay!
"Where is the hay? Where did it go?
Owl tried to find it, but he really didn't know!
He looked behind the apple tree and said,
"Oh what a day!"
He found a big, orange pumpkin but he didn't find the hay!
This book also includes a bonus, "Sequencing Stick" activity. After the story, students practice sequencing events of the story on a paint stirrer. (See photos for details.)
