This Halloween Adapted Book, "Where is the Cat?" is fun and interactive Halloween themed adapted book that focuses on basic Halloween themed vocabulary, matching skills, position words, Wh-questions, and sequencing story events.
In this interactive activity, a teacher or therapist reads the story, as students follow along and match a picture piece to each page. At the end of the story, students answer basic comprehension questions by choosing the correct answer piece that goes with each page.
Students working at an independent level can read and work through the book at a literacy center or independent work station. The book includes plenty of repetitive text and rhyme for beginning readers.
In this silly Halloween story, there is trouble at the witch's den. The cat has gone missing and none of the "monsters" can seem to find her!
Sample Text:
"Where is the cat? Where did she go?
Witchy tried to find her, but she really didn't know!
She looked beside the cauldron and she said,
"Imagine that???!"
She found a jack-o'-lantern, but she didn't find the cat!
"Where is the cat? Where did she go?
Frankie tried to find her, but he really didn't know!
He looked above the cauldron and he said,
"Imagine that???!"
He found a silly ghost, but he didn't find the cat!
This book also includes a bonus, "Sequencing Stick" activity. After the story, students practice sequencing events of the story on a paint stirrer. (See photos for details.)
