In this adapted book, Bunny wants to paint his parents the "perfect Easter egg" but most of the eggs that he paints are a little to "this" or a little to "that."
Sample text:
"It was almost Easter and Bunny wanted to paint his parents the perfect Easter egg.

too spotty.
Next he painted a yellow egg. "That's not the egg," said Bunny. That egg is
too cheery.
Then he pink egg. "That's not the egg," said Bunny. That egg is
too flowery."

At the end of the story, there are wh- questions that students will answer by matching the correct answer piece to each page. Students working independently can work through the book in a literacy center or work station. There are also extension activities included. These include a sequencing mat to sequence the events of the story, an open ended activity where students create their own "that's not the egg," descriptions, and a words to pictures matching activity that focuses on the adjectives in the book.If your students enjoy my adapted books, you can see more of them here:
