This Gingerbread Adapted Book: "Gingerbread In Disguise: Who Am I? " is a Gingerbread themed adapted book that focuses on the -Wh Question word, "Who," making inferences, and basic comprehension skills by having students answer the question, "Who Am I?"
In this activity, a teacher or therapist reads the story, as students follow along and answer the riddle on each page, by choosing the correct interactive matching piece.
Sample Text:
"The gingerbread men are tired of being nibbled. They are putting on their best disguises and making a clean get away. What will their disguises be? Use the clues to solve the riddles."
I am the cook who rides on the range.
Some time on the ranch, might be a nice change

I am the cowboy gingerbread! My cowboy hat and red bandana are sure to make a great disguise."
After the story, you can expand the activity by using the question cards provided. These question cards focus on different types of "Who" questions, and are differentiated for multiple learning levels. Students answer the questions by choosing the correct matching pieces provided.
Students working at an independent level can read and work through the book at a literacy center or independent work station.
