This Turkey Themed Movement and Imitation Activity gets your students moving, gives them a brain break or helps them sharpen their imitation skills.
This activity includes the "Can You Walk Like a Turkey?" Book and Turkey Movement Cards which serve as a great visual support for your students.
Students have so much fun moving their bodies and doing what the turkey does as you move through the book that includes real photos of turkeys doing each action.
Sample Text:
"Can you sit like a turkey?
Can you stretch way up high?
Can you peck like a turkey?
Can you spread your wings and fly?
Can you flap like a turkey?
Can you spread your feathers wide?
Can you lean like a turkey?
Can you duck your head and hide..."
In addition to the book, there are turkey movement cards. These cards include real photos of the turkeys doing each movement and are great to use during a "wiggle," or brain break, before or after a transition to help students refocus, or any time there is a quick 5 minutes to use.
