This Spring Adapted Book, "I See Spring" (w/Real Photos) focuses on identifying spring themed vocabulary and making inferences. Students identify objects by attribute, feature or function by listening to a clue and looking at real photos.
In this activity, the teacher or therapist reads through the book with students as students try to solve each riddle by identifying the spring themed object and matching piece that best fits the description.
Sample Text:
"I see. I see.
What can it be?
It's an animal that has feathers, wings and a beak, and can fly..
(Students find the picture and turn the page to see the answer revealed.)
It's a bird!
That's right!
A bird has feathers, wings and a beak, and can fly."
After the students have worked through the book, there is an extension activity included where they can practice creating their own summer themed riddles. Students working independently may work through the book at a literacy center.
