This Christmas Adapted Book, "I See on Christmas" focuses on identifying Christmas themed vocabulary, and making inferences. Students identify objects by attribute, feature or function by listening to a clue, looking at real photos and making an inference.
In this activity, the teacher or therapist reads through the book with students as students try to solve each riddle by identifying the Christmas themed object and matching piece that best fits the description.
Sample Text:
"I see. I see.
Who can it be?
It's the person who brings us presents after we go to sleep on Christmas Eve...
(Students find the picture and turn the page to see the answer revealed.)
It's Santa Clause!
That's right!
Santa Clause is the person who brings us presents after we go to sleep on Christmas Eve.
After the students have worked through the book, there is an extension activity included where they can practice creating their own Christmas themed riddles. Students working independently may work through the book at a literacy center.
