This Ocean Adapted Book, "I See," In the Ocean focuses on identifying ocean animals by attribute, or function and includes real photos of ocean animals.
In this activity, the teacher or therapist reads through the book with students as students try to solve the riddle by identifying the ocean and matching piece that best fits the description.
Sample Text:
"I see. I see.
What can it be?
It's something that has a shell...
(Students find the picture and turn the page to see the answer revealed.)
It's a sea turtle!
That's right!
A sea turtle has a shell."
After the students have worked through the book, there is an extension activity included where they can practice creating their own ocean themed riddles. Students working independently may work through the book at a literacy center.
