This Garden Adapted Book With Real Photos focuses on identifying garden themed vocabulary and making inferences. Students will solve a riddle by listening to a clue and identify objects by attribute, feature or function.
In this activity, the teacher or therapist reads through the book with students as students solve each riddle by identifying the garden themed object and matching the photo that best fits the description.
Sample Text:
"I see. I see.
What can it be?
It's the liquid that we pour on our seeds and plants to help them grow.
(Students find the picture and turn the page to see the answer revealed.)
It's water!
That's right!
Water is the liquid that we pour on our seeds and plants to help them grow.
After the students have worked through the book, there is an extension activity included where they can practice creating their own garden themed riddles. Students working independently may work through the book at a literacy center.
